"And Jesus grew in wisdom, and stature, and in favor with God and men." Luke 2:52
St. Matthew Preschool provides children the opportunities to think critically and creatively through a variety of exploratory activities and educational experiences that encourage their spiritual, social/emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative development with a Christian worldview.
Preschool Prep
Our Preschool Prep program is designed to provide the two year old child an introduction to the classroom environment with the support of a parent or caregiver. The children participate in learning activities and play with their peers in a loving, supportive environment. Students participate in a story time, songs and fingerplays, hands-on sensory experiences, arts and crafts, and outdoor play. This class strikes just the right balance of small group learning experiences to practice basic routines and free play activities for social interaction and language development.

Three Year Olds
It is our goal for our three year old students to make a smooth transition to the school environment and develop a love of learning! This program partners with the parents to help students gain more confidence and independence each day. Students are introduced to letters, numbers, colors, and shapes through tactile and sensory experiences. The daily schedule is designed to provide ample opportunity for students to learn through exploratory centers and develop socially though free play activities. The curriculum is centered around seasonal themes and the study of God’s amazing world. Our students are always learning, but, most importantly they are learning that school is fun!

Four and Five Year Olds
Our four and five year old program is designed to best prepare students for Kindergarten. The curriculum is designed with a whole language approach to learning. Students engage daily in literacy activities developed for the emergent reader. Through a variety of learning centers and activities, students are engaged in hands-on experiences with letters, writing skills, sensory and scientific exploration, and mathematical concepts. Students participate in cooperative learning, as well as small and large group encounters, to help students practice working with others and also focusing on a task for longer periods of time. Our students gain the knowledge and skills needed to enter Kindergarten with confidence and a love of learning.
